Satanic Bees

I was actually planning on going on a little prayer retreat in our pop-up yesterday. But some bees set up house keeping in an exterior wall of our house, right next to where we keep the camper parked. Not only was I prevented from going on a much needed retreat, but my children also saw their dad for the first time with three lit cigarettes hanging out of his mouth-something I read somewhere about smoke and bees-not to mention him running across the back yard, hands wildly flapping this way and that. Pretty soon I had a wife madder than the bees. (Actually I think the bees liked it, perhaps another brand next time.) It seems I filled her laundry room with cigarette smoke which made it smell like a cheap motel. The good news is I think I got em. Now if I can convince my children their daddy is not going to die of lung cancer, and my wife that the smell will go away... eventually, I'll be off to that much needed retreat.

It's a true story, folks. Every word of it. Did he mention that the kids would periodically check in on the project then run quickly to the foot of the stairs to take a deep breath of fresh clean air? Then, back out to check the progress. Wow, what a day.

Now see if we'd lived close Mickey could have come and gotten the bees for you. In fact, maybe those were his.......did you see my post about his losing some of his?!!! Please tell me Kathy had her camera ready and shooting.

HA HAAA! Why didn't you have your understanding and tolerant wife take a picture of you with the three cigarettes?! ;)

That is too funny. Thanks for filling in the details that Kathy left out. I wish I would have been there...well sort of.

Oh my goodness!!! That is too funny. Kathy should have taken the picture of you holding the flowers AND with 3 cigs hangin out of your mouth. Maybe that would have been a bit much??

The kids came in like they'd just seen a robbery with the news of Danny and the cigarettes. My first and only word was, "WHAT??!!!!!" No pictures, just memories! (actually, I recall seeing remnants of cigarette stuff...may have to grab a photo of those!)

Remember, Danny, "They meant it for evil, but God meant it for good." ;)

Stan, that is hilharious. Can't wait til Danny sees that comment. Yeh, it was pretty evil alright!

I have read this post at least 5 times, and every time I LOL...ALOT. I can just imagine Danny with cigarettes hanging out of his mouth, and everyone's reaction to it. The whole thing just cracks me up....the best post ever!!!

This is so funny! I can just imagine everyone's reactions. My kids would do the same thing.

So your "wildlife" doesn't hang around for the photo op either...Kathy...word pictures sometimes are better than the real thing! I'm sure no bees were harmed in the course of this story...right? I think I'm under investigation for "stickyboarding" by the SPCS...

Thank you all who dropped by. You might be interested in knowing that the bees were successful and that my trip was thwarted... delayed, and that they live on, making honey in the confines of my walls. But I know who to call. Thank you also Red Writing for dropping in. Hope to see you back.
