On Conspiracies

I was speaking with a friend who believes there are elaborate conspiracies involving banks and shadow governments and such.  These powerful conspirators have been on a multi-generational track from well before our own time, so we're to believe.  In another conversation I was told that the conspirators have now developed mind-control techniques.  Well that certainly helps get past a lot of questions concerning the obvious whys and hows of their supposed ability to pull off their incredible plans. But it raises more questions, like how do you, the conspiracy theorist, know you're own mind is not controlled? Anyway...

Like the liberal who always directs our attention to a future Utopia, a re-entry into Eden as it were, the conspiracy theorist always fixes his eyes on the future when the great culmination of some centuries old scheme, complete with the starting and ending of wars, economic failures, and now terrorist activities, achieve their end.  The internet provides fertile ground for these cockamamie schemes to take root, grow and then flourish.

meaningful coherent conversation with those who believe these things is almost impossible once the topic "conspiracies" comes up. Just watch the Video, they say. There's only one problem. I have been so subjected to propaganda for so long I have developed somewhat of a resilience to it I think. The videos look like someone is desperately grasping at straws, and filling in all kinds of blanks, to come to the conclusions they do. They see what they want to see, and then disregard the rest, explaining it away with answers like "thought control".

There has been one You Tube video out for some time called "Small Change", or something like that.  It supposedly shows how 9/11 was an "inside job".  But in reality, it only shows how most any conspiracy can be made to sound plausible if the right things are focused on or ignored.  It leaves the viewer with lots of questions, but they always have an answer... always.

The outing of the hoax of global warming is a wonderful example as to why I don't believe in these elaborate multi-generational conspiracies. Someone, you see, always spills their guts. But if I were a conspiracy theorist, I would simply respond that the conspirators intended for the outing to happen, for nothing happens that the conspirators don't intend to happen, and nothing doesn't happen that they intend to happen.  If this sounds like an attribute of God, then it shouldn't surprise you that "conspiracy" theories appear to function much like religions.

As for me, I do believe in a multi-generational conspiracy in the heavenly realms. I believe that there is an enemy of our souls who is orchestrating the un-renewed minds of men to carry out his elaborate plans. I believe that there is no neutral ground,  Everyone serves one side or the other in this demonic conspiracy.   There are no third, or neutral sides. And I believe that current events attest so well to the fact that "the prince of the power of the air"1 is controlling things that many are buying into a fleshy shadow of his existence.

Just so all who come by here know where I stand.

Good thoughts.

I used to get tied in knots over conspiracy stuff. For some reason, I would even look for conspiracy videos and websites even though it would make me physically sick with worry. Especially the ones about the "shadow government" that's going to arrest us all and send us to concentration camps.

I suppose there might be some truth to them...

But the Lord recently directed my ever-patient husband to Isaiah 8:11-13 and he didn't waste any time showing it to me:

For the LORD spoke thus to me with his strong hand upon me, and warned me not to walk in the way of this people, saying:
"Do not call conspiracy all that this people call conspiracy, and do not fear what they fear, nor be in dread.
But the LORD of hosts, him you shall regard as holy; let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

So, now I have my "marching orders", regardless of what the govt is up to. ;)

Dan,

I'm with you!

It blows my mind how otherwise reasonably intelligent Christians can believe in these ridiculous conspiracies.

Stan said...

Wait ... you're saying that whole 9-11 government conspiracy was FALSE? Look, Dan, think about it. The best proof of a conspiracy is the complete lack of evidence, right? I mean, if there is evidence, it's a poor conspiracy, after all. Skeptics, gotta love 'em. :)

Lucifer (I call him the Dark Side) is VERY clever----he can deceive even the elect....
Saul Alinsky gives honor to Lucifer in his book _Rules for Radicals_
I recommend that all Christians who wish to fight for freedom--read the book..it pays to know how the enemy thinks and the enemy's tactics...
H.Clinton - Bill Ayers- bho were 'students' of Alinsky....

I also recommend reading the OKJ version of the Bible-with Strong's Concordance close by.....
I've gotten to the point where I believe nothing unless it lines up w/ the red letter edition of the OKJ version of the Bible.....

I use to wonder, but I was always aware of just how difficult it would be to pull off such complex and far reaching conspiracies. To be sure there are conspiracies that take place, you might say, to a degree. I mentioned GW, and then there are the news agencies that appear to be in cahoots. But many of these are simply the results of lock-step thinking. There is certainly not anything clandestine about their agendas. But when a person does a little digging, it just keeps getting weirder until we are suppose to believe that events such as 9/11 were inside jobs by secret entities operating in the shadows. I've heard it forwarded that a third of our population believes that Bush blew up the WTC. That many people being so incredibly duped has got to suggest that our society is actually much worse off on the inside than it would appear on the outside.

I liked the scripture you cited. I've read it before but it did not come to mind as I wrote this. Another one I would appeal to is to be "as wise as serpents and gentle as doves".

Stan

I never thought about it like that, I mean, if we all knew about it it would not be a conspiracy.

Thanks everyone else for taking the time to drop a line.

I think environmental crisis are the political bogey man. Since I've been paying attention to politics I noticed that the earth is only in danger when a Republican is in office. A great example is how the earth was just fine when Clinton left office but just four years later Bush managed to heat up the earth enough to melt the ice caps. This was very strange because after Reagan and Bush H. The Earth was on collision course to the next ice age.

The only conspiracy I believe in is the Democrats war on minorities. They always push for lowered expectations and are always pushing for more hand outs to minorities. The most current evidence is Obama push to keep minorities in the public school system and do away with private school vouchers.

This is similar to Bernard Goldberg's take on homelessness in his book "Bias". In Chapter five Goldberg, a self professed "old fashion liberal" wrote of the news stories and documentaries about homelessness he was involved in during the Bush Reagan era, and that such stories dropped to zero the day Clinton was elected.

Also, I expected the media to play a fairly significant role in helping the economy recovery by talking it up and assuaging fears. My expectations have not been dissapointed.

re war on minorities

A conspiracy would suggest that it is being done on purpose. I have wondered if this might be the case but keep running into the same problem that eventually someone sings. I think the war on minorities-and it is obviously happening-is more the result of a lot of elitist's bad thinking that results in a delusional view of the world and man.

I like reading the conspiracies, kinda like the "funny papers"...but, I always remember that even if "They" were ALL "true"...We (Christians) still have the GREATER ONE with us and in us...So just what can man, or all his conspiracies do to us...even the evil one is limited, on our behalf, by our Great God!

"The outing of the hoax of global warming"

When did that happen?

As to the 9/11 thing. I don't think for a second that it was a conspiracy, planned by a 'shadow government' or anything like that. It is strange indeed that so many are willing to believe it. There do seem to be a few unresolved issues (building 7, for instance), but I'm sure there is a reasonable explanation for that.

"These conspiracy theories are kooky, and unfortunately, they are mainly held by conservatives, as far as I know, many of which are Christians. This is befuddling."

Do you think this could be a kind of wishful thinking? There is reference in the Bible to a 'One World Government' etc, and so if you can link present-day atrocities to one global source intent on a New World Order then you've got an impending Rapture on your hands - which is what a certain portion of Christians would dearly like to happen.

Just a thought.

Danny Wright said...

In answering your question on global warming, just recently.

I think your second point is a valid one.

I would like to point out though that when I wrote "these conspiracies are mainly held by conservatives" I had in mind the previous paragraph as it pertains to "these conspiracies". It would have perhaps better reflected my thoughts on the matter if I had said "this particular conspiracy". In fact the very reason for this post was to make it clear that I am not a conspiracy theorist.

Er, when and how was global warming revealed to be a hoax? (specifics would be nice!)

Men conspire, that's for sure, but to conspire for multiple generations and to the elaborate extent that we are being asked to believe, that where I get off.

Great examples, I hadn't thought of those.

Ex Pat

As I said in the beginning of the post, to argue with those who believe the lie that the conspirators are selling is an exercise in futility.

That said, I used the emails that were published as an example of how the truth of conspiracies is a difficult thing to contain. Not that I personally needed the emails to be convinced that there is no basis to believe. I'll give you three reasons right off the top of my head as to why this is so.

1. I don't believe that man can change the temperature of the planet. It is not logical. Given the sacrifices that would logically be required, I think it would be easier to bring about global peace, something that every human would profit from in terms of joy, than to bring back the drudgery of a life that would return without our willing slave of fossil fuels; and that based on science that is not settled, unless you believe the conspiracy that is.

2. Anytime I get a doom story followed up by a request for wealth confiscation, I get suspicious, even if it is touted as the confiscation of my neighbor's wealth... no, in this case, especially if it is being sold as the confiscation of my neighbor's wealth because if it were true, it would require an enormous sacrifice on every human being on the planet's part, especially by those who are leading the way. This is not the case.

3. If we were in fact effecting a change inadvertently, there is nothing we can do to stop it, especially if those who are leading the movement stand to make millions in government grants, sells of carbon credits, and high taxes. These kinds of things tend to erode their credibility- and they need lots of credibility if they want to change the temperature of the planet.

But if you choose to believe that these things are possible, I will not argue with you here.

ExPatMatt said...

Well, I'll not argue the point with you then - that clearly wasn't the purpose of this post (maybe one for the future though!)

I will say that nothing in those emails revealed any kind of conspiracy whatsoever, if you actually read the emails and understand what they're talking about.

"to argue with those who believe the lie that the conspirators are selling is an exercise in futility."

So I can just claim that Christianity is a conspiracy and that for me to argue with anyone who claims it is not is an exercise in futility?

Surely you have to establish that something is a conspiracy, before you can determine the use of arguing it with its adherents? How you go about doing that is a whole other problem!

I just heard Danny Glover say that Hati is the result of Global Warming. How does one debate with that?

Yeah, I got that. That's why I said;

Well, I'll not argue the point with you then

The rest of comment was about the hacked emails (not one of your three points) and conspiracies in general (the topic of the thread). So I'm not sure what you're getting at really.

If Danny Glover said the Haiti earthquake was the result of global warming then Danny Glover is an idiot....however, he was in the Lethal Weapon movies so I'll cut him some slack!

Wanna hear something REALLY kooky?? In the last days, a one world government will arise by deceit. People will lie and deceive - and initiate a satanic one world government. Then, people will be forced - by this huge elaborate government conspiracy that takes over the whole world - to take the mark of the beast (666) in order to buy or sell OR they will be killed.

Isn't that the craziest thing you ever heard in your life??

Who would believe such a huge web of conspiracy in government that evil could EVER be real??

These people who believe that probably need to be deprogrammed because they've just absolutely lost it. They must be psychotic to imagine such devious plots and such a huge conspiracy could ever be pulled off. Do you realize how many people in top levels of government would have to be involved?? Can you just imagine the huge web of deceit it would take to pull that off??

Can't be true - right?? That could never happen - right??

Oh yeah, it's in the Bible. So every Christian who believes the Bible has to believe it - and is a conspiracy theorist.

By the way, those "conspiracy theories" you've been hearing about - they're all about the UN.

(A one world government system.)

That's why Bush and Cheney pulled 9/11. Check their records. They openly belong to UN organizations (as well as satanic groups).

I guess the reason I'd give you why people don't believe clear facts - and prefer instead to believe the false images these guys present - is because there really is a devil... and he's blinding people's minds so they can't see the obvious.

I'd say those "conspiracy theorists" have cut through the power of Satan - under which your mind is still blinded.

And will be until you check the facts... and discover... the Bible is true... and we're headed for the endgame.

The UN is about ready to spring a one world government... right now.

I know it's hard to believe. The whole conspiracy theory of Revelation and all that - and how powerful Satan is to hide it from you view... in plain sight.

It's real.

You're wrong.

Wake up.

God bless.

The 9/11 commission ran into so many lies, they considered turning their investigation over to the Justice Department for criminal investigation OF the government.

MOST DC politicians are ruled by the "Council of Foreign Relations" - advancing one world govt.

Personally, I believe the Christian nation of Rev. 12 rises here in the USA.

anyway, I watch objectively knowing what is coming on this land - complete and total victory for the Christians here.

The UN Government will attempt to take over the USA - so that US Sovereignty is ceded to the UN.

At Copenhagen, the UN sought to establish a treaty to establish one world government through the excuse of the global warming hoax (a huge LIE and DECEPTION that they hope to utilize to gain world consent to one world UN govt).

As soon as you see the US cede Sovereignty to the UN to come under one world government - we're entering the 7 year apocalypse from my view.

Immediately, God will move to birth the Revelation 12 Christian nation and the current USA will be burned into dissolution and no longer exist (Rev. 18) in God's wrath.

The apocalypse has then begun.

The USA is the world capitol of the UN. The USA is the nation from which the 666 beast arises (in my view) - from office of POTUS. We are the wealthy superpower nation of Revelation 18 burned into nonexistence in God's wrath. (Yet, you see in Revelation 18:4 God calls His people out first so that they do not take part in the plagues that come upon the larger nation - to form, I say, the Rev. 12 Christian nation.)

You see also in Daniel that the 666 beast signs a treaty which initiates the apocalypse (and the burning of the Rev. 18 nation as well as the emergence of the Rev. 12 nation.)

It's no coincidence that the 666 beast rises from teh USA and the world capitol of the UN is here.

Of course I am saying that Obama is the 666 beast.

A treaty was nearly signed in Copenhagen by the 666 beast to transfer the USA to the one world governmetn 666 beast system of the UN.

We were pretty close to the "actions" which will initiate the apocalypse.

But the treaty wasn't signed.

But, soon, some form of treaty will be signed that cedes the sovereignty of the US to the UN one world government 666 beast system.

Actually, the UN powers already control our government. However, US Sovereignty hasn't officially been ceded.

Absolutely, DC is full of people advancing the UN one world govt system.

Absolutely, they have built concentration camps here and fully intend to martyr all Christians in the USA.

HOWEVER, that is not our destiny nor the plan of God.

Rather, the Christian nation will arise here on this land - this current governmetn will burn and be no more...

the 666 beast will thus sustain a "mortal wound" to the head - the head being not his physical head but rather the NATION of the USA (the heads represent nations).

SO, Obama will survive the dissolution of hte USA - and remain a world leader and power.

He will become head and President of the UN - and he will become the one world ruler who is worshipped.

The treaty with the UN (fulfilling the Daniel prophecy) may occur this year.

The Christian nation will immediately arise (Rev. 12 fulfillment). (That nation is protected during the Great Tribulation.)

The USA will immediately therefore cease from existence and no longer exist (Rev. 18 fulfillment).

The apocalypse will begin.

We're very, very close to that time.

2 Timothy 3:13 says, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived."

It should be no surprise what depths evil men will conspire to achieve power, control, even revenge. The players may change from generation to generation, but the spirit is the same.
